Some of the drum machines and synths that were used are the TR909, TR727, DX200, FR777, JX3P, and the Technosaurus.

It is the brainchild of Lorin Ashton, and it exists as an open-sourced musical project that is as diverse as it is heavy, as raw as it is meticulous, and as fierce as it is imaginary. Bassnectar combines sound and force with weight while spanning the spectrum of sonic style, covering every genre imaginable, and smashing it all into a collision of wobbling, perverted basslines, hypnotic hide-and-seek adventures, and pretty much anything that strikes his fancy. He calls the end product “omnitempo maximalism,” which basically means no rules, no limitations, and no hesitation in fusing the familiar with the strange or the classic with the cutting edge.

The band’s genre-blending sound is based heavily on instrumental rock and electronic music crossed with elements of funk, jazz, drum and bass, psychedelia, and hip hop. Self-described as “post-rock dance music”. The band mixes standard live rock instrumentation with electronics, favoring group rhythm over individual solos. STS9 has released five studio albums, one remixed album, and one live DVD (Live As Time Changes) on their own label 1320 Records. As an independent artist, they have succeeded by using their live performance to conduct multiple concert tours and appear at music festivals. ]]> http://www.shadowstarr.com/archives/594/feed 0 Invisible Heart http://www.shadowstarr.com/archives/487 http://www.shadowstarr.com/archives/487#comments Fri, 13 Nov 2009 23:30:52 +0000 admin http://www.shadowstarr.com/?p=487 Invisible Heart is a track that I’ve been working on for some time now, and have just finished up.  Its something you might not expect as it is a drum and bass track.  Invisible Heart has some really big synth sounds as well as some guitar.  One of the guitar parts I actually played myself, but all the lead guitar was programmed.  The entire song was written/programmed and recorded with Pro Tools with Fruity Loops being Rewired to the host.
